Britney Spears’ New Year’s Eve collapse could cost her $400,000

britney_spears122006_001.jpgThe “Toxic” singer was contracted to appear at Los Angeles’ PURE nightclub for their New Year festivities, but she was forced to leave early after reportedly fainting.

Club bosses are now demanding she hand back her appearance fee.

A source said: “The moment a celebrity gets into one of those deals they are on the clock. They are watched to the minute, and they are not allowed to leave early. It’s a contractual obligation.”

However, Britney’s representative has dismissed the reports and a club spokeswoman has claimed her fee was “less than half” of the suggested $400,000 and insists she was not penalized for leaving early.

The spokeswoman said: “Britney had a great time. We love her and can’t wait for her to come back.”

Will Smith moving out of the country

will_smith112406_001.jpgThe “Bad Boys” star filmed Muhammed Ali biopic “Ali” in South Africa and wants to relocate there with his family. He told Britain’s Empire magazine: “We want to move to Africa. Actually, I found a house in South Africa, but it was before 9/11 and when that happened, we thought, being Americans, it was a time to be home. But I just loved South Africa.”

“I definitely felt like there was magic there and it was a magic I wanted my family to experience.”

Despite his plans to leave the US, Smith is still fiercely loyal to his native country.

He said: “I’ve been traveling around for the past year and the perception of America and Americans is not great around the world, but I think the ideas behind this country are some of the most artistic, poetic ideas assembled around the idea of a government.”

“I feel the mid-term elections are going to push us more into line with the original concepts and ideas that the forefathers had for what it means to be American.”
